Mackay is located half-way between Brisbane and Cairns. Mackay is situated on the Pioneer River and is regarded as the sugar capitol of Australia. Its very tropical lifestyle, and only minutes away you can experience tropical rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef, and the islands.
Mackay's city centre features palm tree lined streets, and an abundance of cafes and restaurants and shopping faciltiies. Mackay has two large shopping centres located not far from the motel with over 100 specialty shopping stores.

Mackay has two of the best national parks located not far from the city, which includes Eungella, Queenlands largest national park, where platypus viewing is a must for all visitors and Cape Hillsborough where you can feed wallabies on the beach, and walk the trail around the park. Air tours are available to the islands and reef for day trips or just a scenic flight.
Many beaches are located both north and south of Mackay, providing safe swimming conditions to enjoy any watersports, or just to relax to do some fishing.
